Crystal Palace are preparing for another important summer of transition after a season that has delivered mixed fortunes both domestically and in Europe.
The Eagles finished 15th in the Premier League, narrowly avoiding a relegation battle, but also enjoyed a memorable European run by reaching the Europa Conference League final against Rayo Vallecano.
Once that fixture concludes, attention will quickly turn to rebuilding ahead of next season.
In recent years, Palace have already seen key players such as Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze and Marc Guéhi depart, and now another major name could be on his way out.
Lacroix Set to Leave Palace
Maxence Lacroix is expected to play his final game for Crystal Palace in the Conference League final, with growing belief that a summer exit is now increasingly likely, according to RMC Sport.
The “phenomenal” French defender has enjoyed an impressive campaign since arriving from Wolfsburg, quickly establishing himself as one of Palace’s most reliable performers thanks to his pace, aggressive defending and ability to step out of the back line.
His form has not gone unnoticed. Reports suggest several Premier League clubs are monitoring his situation closely, while interest from across Europe is also building. The Premier League is currently viewed as the most likely destination should he depart Selhurst Park.
Lacroix remains under contract until 2029, but Palace are said to be aware that keeping hold of him may prove difficult. No contract extension talks have yet taken place, and the player is understood to be eager to compete at Champions League level, something that may be beyond the club in the short term.
RMC Sport also note that any potential suitors would likely need to pay at least €40 million to open negotiations, although rising market conditions could push that valuation even higher.
The situation is expected to develop quickly once Palace’s European campaign comes to an end, with Lacroix now firmly one of the summer window’s most closely watched potential departures.
