‘Deadwood’, ‘Can’t be trusted’ - Man Utd slam player after Tottenham horror show

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are feeling pretty glum today. Though the 2017/18 season has been, for the most part, a pretty successful one for the Red Devils – their performance against Tottenham on Wednesday evening certainly was not.

The expectation was pretty high amongst our resident Red Devils, especially given Tottenham’s mixed recent form. However, what actually transpired at Wembley wasn’t what anyone was expecting.

It was a clinical and dominant performance from Spurs, and Mauricio Pochettino’s side certainly deserved their 2-0 victory over their Premier League rivals.

Man Utd’s performance was arguably one of their worst of the season, and it’s fair to say that the Old Trafford faithful aren’t very happy.

From the first minute, the moans and groans began to emanate from the Man Utd section of the Transfer Tavern, and it was a similar tale over on Twitter. Red Devils have taken to the site over the last 24 hours to discuss the fixture, and many keep drawing back to the performance of one man: Phil Jones.

The Englishman, who scored an own goal, had a shocker of a game – and it did not go unnoticed. With fans demanding that he is sold, it’s clear that he isn’t very popular at present.
