When Tottenham confirmed that Eric Dier had signed a new long-term deal with the club, the Football Transfer Tavern erupted.
The Spurs faithful in attendance were fearful that the talented 22-year-old could leave the club, with no new deal on the horizon – but those fears have now been put to rest.
Speaking to some of the Tottenham fans by the bar, they are absolutely delighted with the move. One particularly vocal Tottenham fan is claiming that it is the signing of the year!
On recent form – it is clear that Dier is an absolutely vital part of the Tottenham midfield, and this new deal should serve Mauricio Pochettino’s side well for the years to come.
With Tottenham fans in the Tavern unanimous in their delight of the news, our landlord was particularly interested to see if the news was greeted with similar joy elsewhere.
