Sunderland are once again embroiled in a battle for survival and sit bottom of the table after another hammering at the weekend just gone against Southampton.
The Black Cat fans here in the Transfer Tavern are a genuinely worried bunch at the moment, and they are struggling to see how they can survive another year in the Premier League.
Key to their survival is star striker Jermain Defoe, who is looking as lethal as ever and looks to be the only man capable of keeping the club up this season.
Fans gathered over at the fruit machine have been worried about Defoe leaving for some time, and it looks highly likely he will leave in the summer should they club go down.
With this in mind, we have taken a look at TWO Championship forwards who Sunderland could consider moving for in the summer if Defoe leaves…
Fernando Forestieri

The little Sheffield Wednesday striker is one of the star men in the Championship, and he would probably cost a pretty hefty fee to bring in.
However, Sunderland would no doubt have spending power in the second tier, and they could well tempt him into a move.
He is a top quality player capable of playing wide left as well, and would be a real asset to the club.
Chris Wood

The big striker have been a revelation for Leeds this season and looks to be back to his best in the White of the Elland Road club.
Wood’s presence up front makes him a nightmare to defend against, and he has added the goals to his game this season as well to turn himself into one of the Championship’s best strikers.
Another player who could cost a hefty fee, but someone who would definitely be worth it.
