Drop him: Bilic must axe these 2 players from today’s starting West Ham XI against Bournemouth

The West Ham United supporting punters here in the Transfer Tavern were thoroughly miserable this past week after watching their side succumb to a 2-1 reverse at the hands of runaway leaders Chelsea at the London Stadium.

The Hammers were second best throughout the contest and goals from Eden Hazard and Diego Costa ensured it was a miserable evening for the Hammers’ faithful, who spent the next few hours drowning their sorrows at the Tavern’s cocktail bar.

It hasn’t been a great season for the Londoners who have struggled to scale the heights of last season but their fans in the Tavern are still some of the most passionate about.

West Ham face a must-win game this afternoon as they travel to take on struggling Bournemouth and boss Slaven Bilic may look to ring the changes following the result against Chelsea.

Lee Clarke looks at two players who must be axed by the Croatian manager this weekend.

Darren Randolph

The West Ham United stopper could be pulled out of the firing line this weekend when the Hammers travel to Bournemouth, after a series of below-par displays between the posts.

Randolph has not had the best of experiences of late and a rest could do him good, with Adrian a more than able goalkeeper if he is called upon.

One West Ham fan is sat getting stuck into an all-day breakfast here in the Tavern and he thinks that a rest for Randolph would do him the world of good.

Andy Carroll

After a period spent on the sidelines with injury, the Hammers will need to be extremely careful with Andy Carroll as they attempt to prolong his fitness.

The target man has played a lot of football lately and a game with Bournemouth could be the perfect opportunity to hand someone else the chance to return to the fray.

One Hammers supporter is sat chatting to the landlord and he thinks that Carroll is one of the club’s better strikers, although he does concede that he could do with a rest.
