The Manchester United supporters are still buzzing here in the Football Transfer Tavern following last weekend’s astonishing performance over the Barclays Premier League’s current leaders Chelsea at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils secured a thoroughly deserved 2-0 victory and looked very much like the United of yesteryear as they brushed aside the team that will probably be crowned champions come the end of the season.

United will return to league action today when they take on a Burnley side who will no doubt be looking to cause an upset as they celebrate surviving in the top flight during their first season back in the division.

Our landlord has overheard two of his regular drinkers, who happen to be United supporters, discussing today’s team selection and although the last league game ended in victory they think that Mourinho could make some changes.

Although the England striker netted United’s opener in last weekend’s win over Chelsea, the messiah that is Zlatan Ibrahimovic is likely to take his place back at the forefront of the United attack today.

One Red Devils supporter is really disgruntled at Mourinho’s unwillingness to give the youngster a prolonged run in the side this season, stating that he proved last week that he is more than capable of scoring goals given the chance to perform.

Marouane Fellaini

The Belgian midfielder has been used fairly frequently by Jose Mourinho this season but it seems unlikely that he will play in this afternoon’s game against Burnley.

A couple of United fans are chatting away here in the Tavern and they are discussing the enigma that is Marouane Fellaini. They are both in agreement that whilst he is a decent squad player to have, not in a million years should he remain at the club should United ever return to the Champions League.
