Drop them: Pochettino must axe these 2 players from today’s starting Spurs XI against Burnley

The Spurs fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been in fine voice this season and their recent good form has suggested that this season can finally be their time to finish higher up the Premier League than their fierce rivals Arsenal.

Argentinean boss Mauricio Pochettino has been a messiah in North London and there is little doubt that he will earn himself one of the top jobs in world football at some point during his managerial career.

Spurs have been in great form this season and they have more than deserved their place in the top four of the Premier League, with another campaign in the Champions League looking practically secured.

Some of the Spurs fans have gathered here in the Tavern to enjoy one of the landlord’s legendary breakfast cobs, before setting off to today’s game, with many believing Burnley will act as a sitting duck for a prolific Spurs this afternoon.

Lee Clarke looks at two players who should be dropped from today’s team.

Mousa Dembele

The 29-year-old has been in quality form this season for Spurs but the game this weekend could be the perfect chance to give the Belgian a much needed rest.

Dembele has been one of the club’s standout performers this season but with fans here in the Tavern calling for youngster Harry Winks to play more football, this could be the chance for Pochettino to adhere himself to the supporters with a shuffling of the pack.

Son Heung-min

The South Korean is currently deputising for Harry Kane at present and although he is a quality player, the Burnley game could represent the chance for Vincent Janssen to score his way into form.

The Dutchman has not had the greatest maiden campaign in the history of the football club and he will hope to finish the campaign with a flourish.
