Joyous scenes filled the Tavern after Manchester United unveiled new signing Alexis Sanchez earlier on this week, with supporters hoping that the South American can replicate some of the brilliance displayed by the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Eric Cantona in years gone by for the Red Devils.
As one of the biggest stars in the whole of world football, the Chilean will be a welcome addition at Old Trafford to fit into what is an ambitious United side that have set their aims firmly on trying to secure a fourth Champions League title.
Indeed, with Jose Mourinho receiving all the plaudits for securing the transfer of the former Arsenal attacker, it’s the unsung hero Ed Woodward that masterminded the deal after working tirelessly behind the scenes.
