The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern have been discussing Aiden McGeady and none of them believe that he has a future at Goodison Park.
So they might be pleased to hear the news that they could well be making a £2m profit on their fringe player.
Former football agent and now a freelance journalist Ross McCafferey is reporting that Aiden McGeady will leave Everton this summer to join Preston North End on a permanent deal.
With the reported fee expected to be in the region of £2.5m, that would mean Everton have made a healthy profit from McGeady, who joined the Toffees on a cut price deal from Spartak Moscow.
The Republic of Ireland international has certainly found his feet at Preston where he has become a fans’ favourite for his impressive displays, which earned him the February Player of the Month award in the Championship.
Preston are hoping to wrap up a permanent deal for Everton so this will come as good news to them too as they chase promotion next season.
It certainly seems to be a deal which both the Everton and the Preston North End fans in the Transfer Tavern are very pleased with.
Everton fans – are you pleased with this profit? Let us know in the comments below…
