Baines has been a terrific servant for Everton over the years but inevitably he won’t be their left-back forever, as much as the Toffee fans would like that. On the other hand, the Dutchman has enjoyed a successful couple of seasons, impressing so much at Ajax, he bagged a move to German side Frankfurt. Last season in his first for the Bundesliga team, Willems made 23 league appearances, managing to help his team with 3 assists, showing his forward contribution as well as defensively.
Jetro Willems is also extremely capable playing further up the pitch as a left-midfielder, with versatility appealing to Everton as a team looking to strengthen a number of positions. At 24, Willems has already experienced playing for his country 22 times which reiterates the fact that he is a very capable player who could be a shrewd signing for Everton this summer.
