Everton: Fans are loving this throwback photo of Dixie Dean

A vintage photo of Dixie Dean and his teammates on their way home from a match has emerged on Twitter and many Everton fans are absolutely loving it.

The image features club legend William Ralph ‘Dixie’ Dean alongside his Everton teammates leaving a match in the 1930s.

Dean spent 12 years of his career with the Merseyside outfit before moving on to play briefly for Notts County, Sligo Rovers and Hurst. The Goodison Park icon amassed 399 appearances and in that time scored 349 goals. His record of scoring a phenomenal 60 goals in a single league season is still untouched by any other English footballer, and many argue it will never come close to being broken. Many Blues fans were recently remembering Dean’s historic milestone after he scored his 60th goal exactly 92 years ago on 5 May 1928. These Everton fans flocked to the image of him and his teammates, with one supporter describing it as ‘absolutely superb’, whilst others are just proud to follow their club:
