Plenty of Everton fans have debated the sale of Nikola Vlasic, having seen the winger move on a permanent basis to CSKA Moscow last summer.
The Croatian winger started his professional career in his homeland, impressing at youth level for Hadjuk Split, where he would go on to make his first team debut.
Spending three years with the Croatian side, Vlasic would gain a good reputation in his homeland, gaining recognition from the national side in the meantime, playing a total of 11 times since.

Such good form saw interest emerge from other European sides and it was Everton who moved quickly to agree a permanent move for the youngster, agreeing a five-year deal which would cost a fee of around £10m in August 2017.
The Split born footballer would appear 19 times in all competitions for the Toffees, playing 12 times in the Premier League (Transfermarkt).
Despite his early impressions, Vlasic would be loaned out for the following season to CSKA Moscow, where he would net a famous winner against Real Madrid in the Champions League season of 2018/2019.
Eight goals in 38 appearances would see the 22-year-old make a permanent move to the Russian Premier League side last summer, joining the club for an undisclosed transfer fee. He has since gone on to impress further at CSKA, scoring seven and assisting four in 22 league appearances this term (Transfermarkt).
Looking into his time at the club and form since he left, Everton fans have taken part in a debate via Twitter account @TheGwladysSt about whether or not he would fit into the current side at Goodison Park under the guidance of Carlo Ancelotti.
You know who’d suit Ancelotti’s 4-4-2 really well? Nikola Vlasic, could play wide right or up top. Got a feeling we’ll regret selling him in the end. #EFC

Not sure the current tactics with RW playing higher as a goal scoring threat he’d make sense. He’s also playing at levels below the PL – I can’t tell you how much time and space he has facing the goal in that league. Still could be great, but not sure he’d help right now.

Always bothered me that we kept Walcott instead of Vlasic. I would have kept Vlasic, had something about him

Said it at the time

Delafaeou was better than Walcott and vlasic.

Would’ve liked to see him in this system think there’s a player in there

Definitely a player in there might be better suited to a different league other than PL but could easily see him playing at one of better serie a teams over the next few years

Totally agree he’s one that would flourish under Carlo
