Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has a ‘special interest’ in bringing Torino midfielder Daniele Baselli to the club this summer.
Italian coach Ancelotti will be expected to change a few aspects of the Everton side in what will be his first summer transfer window in charge of the club.
Sitting 12th in the Premier League standings at present, the former AC Milan and Real Madrid tactician will be keen to bring in players who are capable of helping the Toffees push the league’s top six.
With numerous transfer links emerging over the last few days, it has now been reported by Italian media outlet Tuttosport (via Sport Witness) that Ancelotti is keen on making a move for Baselli.
Joining Everton with interest are both Napoli and Lazio, who are keen to look at a move for the Torino man as he has impressed in Serie A this season racking up 16 appearances and providing two assists (Transfermarkt) whilst also averaging 2.7 tackles, 1.6 interceptions and 1.5 clearances per game (SofaScore).
Ancelotti’s ‘special interest’ in the midfielder could hand Everton the tag of ‘favourites’ to make a summer move, but an official approach is yet to be reported.
