Many Everton fans have discussed former player Samuel Eto’o after the Toffees shared an interview with the Cameroonian on the Merseyside club’s website on their official Twitter page.
Eto’o claims that he immediately fell in love with the Blues after he apparently knocked back an offer from bitter rivals Liverpool to sign at Goodison Park in 2014. The 39-year old also added that signing for the club was one of the best decisions that he has ever taken. He also claims to have had a very positive meeting with Roberto Martinez at the time, despite one EFC supporter suggesting that he was the first to realise what a ‘fraud’ the Spaniard was.
Eto’o managed 20 appearances for Everton in all competitions, scoring four goals and providing two assists, according to Transfermarkt. It is fair to say that the striker enjoyed an illustrious career, scoring for fun at times during spells with FC Barcelona and Inter Milan and also winning multiple major trophies, as per the website.
These Evertonians discussed their ex-man, with one fan labelling him as ‘world class’:

Still can’t believe he ever played for us, even if only for 5 months! 💙
