Everton fans have been quick to praise Jordan Pickford

Everton’s squad is full of talent, but many of the players within the first team have underperformed this season. That’s certainly true of Jordan Pickford, who was expected to have a brilliant campaign under Marco Silva.

Indeed, following a World Cup that saw Pickford become England’s first choice goalkeeper, the 24-year-old looked destined to emerge as one of the Premier Lague’s best.

However, it hasn’t quite worked out like that.

Rather, he’s been pretty mediocre for much of the season, with a lack of consistency in addition to individual errors really costing him and his team.

However, he was back at his best on Tuesday when Everton took on Cardiff City. The Toffees finished the game as 3-0 winners, and Pickford deservedly picked up a clean sheet.

Following a celebratory post from Pickford on Twitter, lots of Everton fans have responded to their goalkeeper, and they’ve been very quick to praise him. He can often divide opinion, but supporters seem to be unanimous in their praise of him at present. See below:
