Everton registered their third Premier League match without a win after Chelsea made easy work of putting four goals past them at Stamford Bridge. Toffees fans are lashing out at several members of the team, but the one receiving the most backlash seems to be captain Gylfi Sigurdsson.
The Icelandic midfielder has failed to make much of an impact on Everton’s 2019/20 season. He has contributed to just three goals in the Premier League this campaign, his latest being an assist against Watford at the start of February.
Sigurdsson put in an almost completely silent performance against Chelsea, attempting no dribbles and no shots towards goal. The 30-year-old also failed to register any tackles, clearances or interceptions despite playing the full 90 minutes (via Sofascore).

Sigurdsson joined Everton for a club record fee of £45million from Swansea back in 2017. Since his debut, his market value has plummeted and he is now worth just £25.2million (via Transfermarkt).
Fans have had enough of his poor performances and inability to influence a game, with many hoping he will ‘never put on the Everton shirt again’. One fan has slammed Sigurdsson for being ‘useless’ while another has said he should be ‘utterly ashamed’.

#Sigurdsson should be utterly ashamed of himself after that performance as player and captain.

Everton fans, what do you think of Gylfi Sigurdsson? Is his time at the club over?
