Everton were able to bounce back from their humiliating 6-2 Premier League defeat to Tottenham in style after they beat Burnley 5-1 at Turf Moor yesterday.
A Lucas Digne brace accompanied with goals from Yerry Mina, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Richarlison ensured it was a more than comfortable win for Marco Silva’s men who now find themselves eighth in the table.
And while all of the above names will likely receive most of the praise for their side’s emphatic win, £13.5m-rated (Transfermarkt) Dominic Calvert-Lewin is also deserving of a mention despite not getting on the scoresheet.
Not just in yesterday’s triumph but also over Everton’s last few fixtures, the 21-year-old led the line well with his energy and runs in behind.
Going forward, Silva will still desperately want to add a more prolific No.9 to his squad with neither Calvert-Lewin or Cenk Tosun having been able to show they are that in a blue shirt.
But even so, the former has proven he does have something to offer the team with his recent displays.

Got to say, Calvert-Lewin is still young but he can be an integral first-team player.
Starting at City away last season, I think he’s shown he’s absolutely brilliant at his job.
