Many Everton fans have been reacting as Phil Kirkbride gave an update on the future of Leighton Baines on his official Twitter page.

As per the journalist, Carlo Ancelotti is hopeful that he will sign a new deal with the Merseyside club as his current contract expires at the end of the 2019/20 season. The 35-year old has reportedly been offered an extension of 12 more months as the futures of Oumar Niasse and Cuco Martina also hang in the balance.
However, it is the future of Baines that seems to be concerning many members of the Goodison Park faithful the most given how loyal a servant he has been to them. The Englishman has played in no fewer than 418 games across 13 consecutive seasons for the Toffees, scoring 39 goals and making 67 assists, according to Transfermarkt.
