Loads of Everton fans have been reacting to the transfer news that Maarten Stekelenburg is set to leave the Merseyside club for Ajax on a permanent deal in the upcoming summer transfer window after signing a short-term contract extension which will at least see him remain at the Toffees until the end of the 2019/20 season.

As per the Blues’ official website, the 37-year old will leave straight after the final game in the Premier League against Bournemouth at Goodison Park in July and could well start that match or receive a testimonial for his services.
The Dutchman has made 26 appearances for Everton in all competitions across three years but has not yet featured at all in this campaign, according to Transfermarkt.
He will now return to his native country with Ajax, where he had previously made 282 appearances in all competitions, keeping 106 clean sheets (via Transfermarkt).
