Everton : Fans discuss transfer update as Nathangelo Markelo joins FC Twente on loan

Plenty of Everton fans have been discussing a transfer update as Nathangelo Markelo has joined FC Twente on a season-long loan for the 2020/21 season, according to the official website of the Merseyside club.

As per the outlet, this is for his own development as he will surely be looking to come back stronger after signing a new two-year deal earlier this month.

Indeed, the 21-year old has been a key part of the Toffees Under 23’s set-up, playing in a total of 59 games in all competitions across the past three campaigns, scoring two goals and making a further four assists (via Transfermarkt).

One member of the Goodison Park faithful on Twitter even claimed that he was ‘better than Tom Davies’, who being just a year older had only managed a mere two strikes and no assists in 32 matches in all competitions in the 2019/20 term (per Transfermarkt).

Some of his previous displays have been criticised by EFC supporters before, and so perhaps Markelo should have been given a chance ahead of Davies in the first team.

However, another Blue was more underwhelmed by the news, saying that ‘this isn’t Allan’. Indeed, fans are waiting eagerly for news on the Brazilian, who has been linked with a move to Carlo Ancelotti’s side recently.
