Everton fans unleashed their anger out at Mason Holgate after he made comments regarding tonight’s tie against Sheffield Wednesday in the Carabao Cup.
The defender said that the cup was a big chance to do well in, and that the club should look at ‘switching’ their form as they focus on tonight’s game (via Everton).
Sheffield Wednesday are in good form in the Championship this season, winning four and drawing one of their eight games as they sit two points outside the play-off places (via BBC).
In stark contrast, the Blues have been in horrible form in the top-flight, losing three and drawing one of their six games in the league this season (via WhoScored).
Holgate is returning from a half-season loan spell at West Bromwich Albion last campaign and has featured in just two games before tonight’s fixture (via Transfermarkt).
It seems fans are sick and tired of the talk in the press as they took to Twitter to unleash their fury.
