Some Everton fans have been left buzzing as some news emerged on their proposed new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.

As per the official website of the Goodison Park faithful, an investment package of up to £45m in order to support the delivery of the new ground and the Goodison Legacy Project has now been approved by the Liverpool Combined Authority.

£15m of that package will be used to assist with infrastructure work to public space and heritage sites on and around Bramley-Moore Dock, and a loan of up to £30m will be used towards the overall project to build the new 52,888-seat waterfront stadium.

The project will offer a boost of £1.3bn to the local economy, attract an extra 1.4m visitors to the region every year and deliver an additional £237m of social value.

There are certainly exciting times ahead not just for the supporters of the Merseyside club, but those who live in and around the community too, as the stadium project gathers momentum.
