Everton: Fans laud display of Jarrad Branthwaite v Aston Villa

Plenty of Everton fans lauded the display of Jarrad Branthwaite in their Premier League home game at Goodison Park versus Dean Smith’s Aston Villa, despite the relatively disappointing 1-1 result.

AVFC, who are trying to fight off relegation from the top flight, actually took the lead through Ezri Konsa before Theo Walcott levelled the proceedings very late in the match to salvage a point for Carlo Ancelotti’s men.

Despite the fact that they only drew, it was the display of young Branthwaite that caught the eye of several members of the Toffees faithful.

Having had to come on for the injured Mason Holgate reasonably early in the first half, the central defender showed maturity beyond his years as he won five of his duels and also made two clearances, two blocked shots and two tackles throughout the match, earning him a rather impressive 7/10 rating on Sofascore.

These EFC supporters lauded the performance of the 18-year old on Twitter, as he may well have put himself in contention to start the remaining two fixtures of the 2019/20 season for the Blues:
