Loads of Everton fans have been hailing a transfer link to SSC Napoli duo Allan and Nikola Maksimovic as Corrie del Mezzogiorno (via Sport Witness) have reported that the Italian team are looking for a fee of €50 million, which is the equivalent of around £45.2 million, for the pair.
As per the outlet, Carlo Ancelotti’s side are now looking at Maksimovic as they have seemingly given up in the race for LOSC Lille man Gabriel Magalhaes, who has been strongly linked with a move to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
Maksimovic was apparently close to signing a new deal worth €2 million a season, or £1.8 million, but Gennaro Gattuso’s decision to leave him on the bench for their UEFA Champions League game versus FC Barcelona “generated discontent”.
Allan has been linked with the Toffees throughout the summer window and a fairly recent report claimed that the Blues were close to reaching an agreement with the 29-year old Brazilian.
The central midfield player averaged more tackles and key passes than Fabian Delph, Tom Davies and Andre Gomes in their respective domestic leagues in the 2019/20 season, according to Whoscored.
Would Allan start for Everton under Carlo Ancelotti?
Maksimovic was better on the ball and picking out teammates than Mason Holgate, Michael Keane and Yerry Mina in the last campaign, as the Serbian central defender averaged more key passes as well as having the highest pass success percentage (via the website).
These members of the Goodison Park faithful hailed the news on Twitter:
