If West Ham fans are expecting the club to splash the cash this summer after qualifying for Europe, they can forget it, former Premier League midfielder Carlton Palmer has warned.
The Hammers had a fantastic 2020/21 campaign, finishing sixth in the table and thus qualifying for the Europa League.
Those added Thursday night games next term may have supporters feeling that manager David Moyes needs a bigger squad. And with an extra source of revenue from the competition, some may also feel the means to bring in significant reinforcements is there.

Palmer, however, is not as optimistic, fully expecting Moyes to have little to play with in the transfer window.
Speaking exclusively to TT about West Ham’s summer plans, the ex-Leeds United star said:
“I know that there’s not going to be and David knows that there’s not going to be [a lot to spend].
“I would think that David might have £30m, £35m to spend in the summer, so he’s not going to have a lot of money. He knows that.”
It would not be the end of the world, with Moyes proving on numerous occasions that he can find a bargain in the transfer market – most recently, the loan signing of Jesse Lingard.
