Graham Roberts has suggested that it might even harder for Harry Winks to get a move away from Tottenham following his performance against Pacos de Ferreira in the UEFA Conference League.
Winks was making his first competitive appearance of the season in Portugal but failed to catch Nuno Espirito Santo’s eye nor put himself in the shop window.
Would you take Ward-Prowse at Tottenham?
Despite being one of the experienced faces in an otherwise youthful Tottenham outfit in the third-tier European competition, the midfielder didn’t do his chances of forcing his way into the Premier League side any favours.
Meanwhile, Winks’ display wouldn’t exactly have impressed opposition managers, with the 25-year-old being one player sporting director Fabio Paratici is hoping to move on before the window closes.
Winks came off the bench late on at Wolves on Sunday and will be hoping to get another opportunity in the Conference League second leg play-off on Thursday evening.
But Roberts exclusively told The Transfer Tavern that he hasn’t been impressed with him:
“Who’s going to touch him if you play like that? Nobody. So, it makes Nuno’s job very hard to pick a team and you’re not going to do it if you play like that.”
