Last night during a Channel 4 Dispatches TV documentary, the end of Manchester United’s Bryan Robson was announced.
Captain Marvel was a much respected player in his time as a Red Devil and had been continuing these good works with his role as a Manchester United Ambassador.
Sadly his greed has sullied his good name forever. Bryan was filmed necking a stream of free drinks in a Manchester United themed bar in Asia, explaining how football had died a long time ago and was now just a business.
Bryan’s contribution to this business was to aid interested parties in purchasing affordable football clubs, improving them and then reaping the financial rewards.
Birmingham, Leicester, Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday were all named as prime targets for men who saw football clubs as nothing more then vehicles to make money.
More sinister than Robson though was a creature by then name of Joe Sim – chief adviser to the Thai FA – who boasted,
“Once you have put £5million into the fund, I’ll arrange for you and me, we have dinner with Sir Alex Ferguson, then Sir Alex Ferguson will tell you that he is going to lend me the players.”
Sim has got to be the very opposite of what is good for football, what was going through Robson’s mind as he agreed to cosy up to this guy is anyone’s guess.
My guess is dollar signs.
