It’s been a difficult season for Arsenal, and Tuesday nights defeat to League Two Bradford City in the Capital One Cup has had us speculating in the Football Transfer Tavern just who Arsene Wenger may bring in to try and improve the performances in January.
A midfield enforcer should be high on the agenda, with the criticism so often aimed at Arsenal that they lack strength and fight in the more physical games.
Whilst missing Robin van Persie is obvious enough, the summer sale of Alex Song has also seemed to hit them hard, with a like-for-like replacement still not bought in and Mikel Arteta having to take up the position of deep-lying midfielder.
