Tottenham Hotspur’s run of form in recent weeks has fallen well below the standard expected of the club. Pochettino’s side have slumped to a run of just one win from their previous six Premier League fixtures, which has left their pre-season ambitions of mounting a title-challenge completely in tatters after just 15 games. Spurs now sit a staggering 18 points behind league-leaders Manchester City.
Unless Guardiola’s side completely self-destructive at some point this season, Spurs will struggle to keep within touching distance of the league leaders, never mind challenge for top spot.
Because of their poor opening to the league campaign, The Lilywhites propping up the bar are turning their attention to the cup competitions as potential sources of silverware.
The Lilywhites were interested spectators for the 3rd round draw of the FA cup yesterday evening, which saw their side pitted against League One’s AFC Wimbledon in a home tie at Wembley.
Tottenham broke the news to their supporters via their official Twitter page after the draw last night.

Judging by the response on Twitter, the Spurs fans are clearly hoping Pochettino and his players will take the competition seriously this season.
With the Premier League already out of their reach and the Champions League notoriously competitive, the FA Cup could represent their best chance of collecting silverware this season.
