Forget Lawro – Here’s Tonight’s Predictions

After the quite mental transfer window yesterday it might be argued this is a good day to put our Premiership feet up and catch our collective breath. Uh uh. The world’s greatest league doesn’t stop for anyone.

Here’s a run through this evening’s games and don’t forget that Bet365 are matching all bets up to £200. As we’ve said before, when it’s gone it’s gone.

Sunderland vs Chelsea

Sunderland are Bentless but not broken. The mood in the camp at Stamford Bridge has got to be buoyed by not just the arrival of Torres but the resounding message sent out that Chelsea are still a going concern and still backed by their owner. The feel good factor in football is everything. Prediction 0-2.

Arsenal vs Everton

Two sides that opted out of the window really. Ok, Pienaar quit for Tottenham, but Neville staying was more important. Arsenal will continue where they left off, with question marks over several positions. Arsenal have got to be too good for Everton, surely? But Moyes does seem to get a ‘bit extra’ out of his lot against the better sides. Prediction 2-1.

WBA vs Wigan

To the victor the spoils. Two unappetising teams battling it out to avoid being branded ‘less unappetising’ than the other one. No thanks. Prediction 2-1.

Manchester United vs Aston Villa

Potentially an electrifying combination. Crazy talk really as this game features Villa, but Villa are doing a good impression of a team revitalised. Carew isn’t bringing the dressing room down any more, Young is staying and Benty is so up for it, it hurts.

United are, as usual beginning to do their post Christmas, ‘going through the gears’ routine and even if Rooney doesn’t find his mojo tonight, they will still be incredibly hard to defeat. Late goals are your bet here, folks. Prediction 3-1

Well now, when it comes to football, one man has for many years been the most noticeable, the most controversial, and occasionally the most successful blogger this country has ever produced. His pithy words and abrasive style make him as famous off the pitch as he is on it. This man is Escapini. "I love football. Football she's a cruel mistress. She's, she's more than a mistress. She's a wife, she's a mother, she's a daughter, she's an errant child. She's a… she's a… she can make you laugh, she make you cry. She can bring tears me eyes. She can bring blood to me shoulders. She can bring a kettle to the boil." "Cause football is about nothing, unless it's about something and what it is about, is football."
