Forget Mbakogu: Leeds United should target these 2 strikers instead this summer

Leeds United fans here in the Tavern are feeling relieved after seeing their side win at the weekend, as Paul Heckingbottom inflicted defeat on his former club.

Interestingly, Leeds appear to have taken a step backwards since Paul Heckingbottom took charge in February, as the Whites have struggled to gather any momentum with only a few matches remaining. Indeed, Leeds have nothing to play for from here on in until the end of the season, but could see a managerial change having witnessed Heckingbottom’s inconsistencies.

Although, the club should look to steer clear of one of their reported summer transfer window targets, as Leeds are believed to be lining up a deal for Carpi’s striker Jerry Mbakogu. So, the Whites should look elsewhere for a striker in the summer transfer window, as the Nigerian hasn’t exactly been prolific this season in the Serie B over in Italy.

Nevertheless, Leeds United simply must sign these TWO strikers instead of Mbakogu in the summer…

Oli McBurnie

Oli McBurnie has been sensational at loan club Barnsley since joining in January, as he’s the Tykes’ best hope of ensuring safety with eight goals to his name in the Championship.

Indeed, the 21-year-old will no doubt have a big part to play in the Swans’ future so may only be available on loan, with many of our local residents believing that he can fire them to the Premier League.

Nevertheless, Leeds should look to bring the Scotland international to Elland Road in the summer transfer window, as one of the most exciting prospects in English football that can guarantee goals.

Charlie Austin

Charlie Austin has lost his way at St Mary’s in the current campaign as a summer transfer window exit looks likely, with a team like Leeds United chomping at the bit to bring him to the Championship.

Encouragingly, the Englishman certainly knows how to find the back of net and is current club Southampton’s top scorer, even after suffering from an injury and losing his place in the side.

So without further ado, the Whites should look to bring him to Elland Road in the summer transfer window, as a prolific goalscorer that has already proven his worth in the Championship during his time at Queens Park Rangers.
