The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern seem resigned to losing Gerard Deulofeu this summer.
The exciting winger is not part of Ronald Koeman’s plans and is currently out on loan at AC Milan.
He has impressed during his loan spell in Italy and AC Milan want to buy him permanently.
They face competition, however, from Barcelona, who have a buy back clause inserted in Deulofeu’s Everton deal which must be exercised this summer.
And now another club have entered the race for the nippy winger.
French Ligue 1 side Marseille are the latest team to show an interest in the 23-year-old, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Having already bought Dimitri Payet from West Ham and Florian Thauvin from Newcastle, Marseille are aiming to land their third winger from the English leagues when they target Everton’s Gerard Deulofeu this summer.
The Spain international could be sold by Ronald Koeman as he aims to put his personal stamp on the squad.
Deulofeu’s impact in his second spell with Everton has been limited and while he showed glimpses of his talent, he has not hit the heights perhaps expected of him.
Our landlord would love to see Deulofeu back in the Premier League one day if he does decide to leave.
