West Ham United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be looking forward to seeing the calibre of talent Manuel Pellegrini is able to bring to the London Stadium this summer.
Following the release of the Premier League fixtures, the Irons will start their campaign away to Liverpool and the Chilean will be keen to bring in a number of additions before the Premier League season gets underway.
It is believed the former Manchester City manager has been busy making a number of movements in the transfer market, and according to reports in Spain, Pellegrini has identified a goalkeeper he would like to bring to the London Stadium.
AS (via Sports Witness), are claiming that Espanyol’s Roberto Jimenez is a ‘leading candidate’ to join West Ham this summer as they look to find a new shot-stopper whilst Adrian’s future in east London hangs in the balance.
It is believed Jimenez could be available for a fee of just 2million euros (£1.45m) – a price-tag that should not concern the Hammers too much this summer.
Landlord’s Verdict
The Hammers need a new goalkeeper and have been linked with the likes of Lukasz Fabianski in recent weeks, however, the 32-year-old could prove to be a cheaper alternative to the Poland international.
The locals in the bar will be pleased that the club are looking at bringing in a new shot-stopper this summer and will be pleased that progress is being made to conclude a deal.
