Gary Neville vs Alan Hansen

“Whether or not Rooney was right to raise his concerns about United’s future plans, it is an inescapable fact that Ferguson’s team look a million miles from one that can win the Premier League or Champions League this season”

Alan Hansen

“Wayne has apologised to the fans and everyone connected with the club, so we have to put it all to bed now. There will be fall-out, but as soon as Wayne gets back on the pitch it will all be forgotten. The statement attributed to Wayne didn’t go down well, but we all make mistakes and United fans will accept that. It’s forgotten about as far as the players are concerned, as when our top players sign long-term deals it is a boost. Wayne is staying and we look forward to winning trophies with him in our team.”

Gary Neville

This whole mess has taken on a new spin of course. Conspiracy theories now abound. There was some twit on Radio 5 earlier talking up the tale that Rooney and Sir Alex were in cahoots. The whole thing was staged in order force the Glaser hand.

Some other guy was convinced City had made a £40M bid (get this) ‘verbally’.

Whatever happened the key issue is that Manchester United must move on. What are your thoughts?

Well now, when it comes to football, one man has for many years been the most noticeable, the most controversial, and occasionally the most successful blogger this country has ever produced. His pithy words and abrasive style make him as famous off the pitch as he is on it. This man is Escapini. "I love football. Football she's a cruel mistress. She's, she's more than a mistress. She's a wife, she's a mother, she's a daughter, she's an errant child. She's a… she's a… she can make you laugh, she make you cry. She can bring tears me eyes. She can bring blood to me shoulders. She can bring a kettle to the boil." "Cause football is about nothing, unless it's about something and what it is about, is football."
