After a shockingly underwhelming 2024/25 campaign — by the dizzying standards of Manchester City — the Etihad outfit are in full rebuild mode this summer.
The departures have been eye-catching. Kevin De Bruyne has swapped Manchester for Napoli, while long-serving defender Kyle Walker has made a surprising move to Burnley. Rising star Savinho looks set for Tottenham Hotspur, leaving a gap in City’s attacking plans.
Incoming, City have been just as bold.
Tijjani Reijnders has arrived to fill De Bruyne’s midfield shoes and add box-to-box energy. Rayan Aït-Nouri joins from Wolves, offering skill and creativity down the left flank. Lyon playmaker Rayan Cherki is now in the mix, and goalkeeper James Trafford has returned from Burnley to vie for the No.1 spot.
And now, a player of global stature has emerged as a target, with fresh updates suggesting a Premier League move may be closer than anyone expected.
Donnarumma’s Agent Hints at Premier League Switch

Gianluigi Donnarumma, PSG’s star goalkeeper last season, put in what many are called “truly complete” performances, helping the club capture a historic quadruple — including their first-ever Champions League title.
Yet his time in Paris is increasingly uncertain. A contract dispute, combined with PSG’s acquisition of Lucas Chevalier from Lille, has left Donnarumma sidelined for the Super Cup clash against Europa League winners. All indications point toward a potential exit.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City have already reached out to PSG to explore terms for a deal. The club’s current asking price is around €50 million, though City reportedly view that as too high. Any move could also hinge on Ederson’s future, with the Brazilian goalkeeper linked to Galatasaray.
But the latest update is even more promising for City.
In an exclusive conversation with Romano, Donnarumma’s agent Enzo Raiola offered encouraging words about a Premier League switch: “Premier League is the right step for Gigio in my view, we’re working on it. There are zero talks with Italian clubs.”
Romano himself added that City remain “keen” on the Italian, hinting that a deal could materialize in the near future.
Landing Donnarumma would not only strengthen City’s spine but make a bold statement — arguably bringing the best goalkeeper in the world to the Etihad and capping off an already transformative summer.
