The Aston Villa fans in the Transfer Tavern are absolutely buzzing with Steve Bruce’s latest injury update. The experienced gaffer has given the news that he doesn’t have a single injured player in his squad at the moment as Neil Taylor, Alan Hutton and Axel Tuanzebe are all fit and available although tomorrow’s game against Steve Bruce’s former club, Hull City, has come too soon for Glenn Whelan.
Steve Bruce: “I don’t think I have an injured player at this club at the moment. Taylor has trained all week. Tuanzebe is fit. Hutton is fit. The only one this game might have come too soon for is Glenn Whelan.”

Aston Villa currently sit 4th in the Championship and look destined to finish in a playoff spot, despite making a push for the automatic promotion places. Villa were on course to usurp Cardiff in second place and make an automatic Premier League return at the second time of asking just three weeks ago after they beat league leaders, Wolves 4-1 at Villa Park. However, the Birmingham club went on to lose their next two games against QPR and Bolton and have been overtaken by Fulham.
Whilst the Villa fans propping our bar up will still be confident of promotion through the playoffs, it will feel like they’ve shot themselves in the foot with their recent back-to-back losses as they seemed more and more likely to catch Neil Warnock’s Cardiff with each game. Now seven points away from the Welsh side who also have a game in hand over them, the remaining eight games don’t look like being enough for Bruce to secure the 2nd place finish that the fans have been hoping for. However, the club will stay be looking to gain momentum for the playoffs and with the club’s shortening injury list things are looking up for the Villains.
