There are surprised gasps in the Football Transfer Tavern when Danny Griffiths from Metro pops by to exclaim to punters that new Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola has made Arsenal star Jack Wilshere a key transfer target for the Bundesliga club.
The former Barcelona manager has watched Wilshere in recent months and believes that he can lead the Champions League finalists to even more glory over the next few years, something the Stevenage born midfielder hasn’t managed in North London yet.
Arsenal will be confident that the England international will remain at the Emirates Stadium for the near future after he signed a recent contract extension after he missed 17 months of action through injury but it is likely that the 21-year-old will become unsettled unless Arsene Wenger can deliver the success he so craves for the Gunners.
Griffiths suggests to interested punters that his German sources have made clear that Guardiola is confident that Wilshere will be available in the next few years and will do everything possible to sign him while at the Allianz Arena.
Is this another blow for Gunners fans or a story set to be fish and chip paper? Rate this rumour below.
