The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reading a story in The Guardian about their young 19-year-old prodigy, Marcus Edwards. The youngster has had crisis talks with Mauricio Pochettino and will be seeking an exit from the club after it’s become apparent that he won’t be getting any game time in North London.

There has been a lot of hype around Edwards from a number of Tottenham fans, especially seeing as Pochettino once described him as a ‘mini Messi’, although that bold claim looks to have come back to bit the youngster. It almost seems as if Edwards has come along too late, as with Spurs looking to transition into their new stadium they’ll be looking at bringing in experienced internationals instead of looking for undiscovered gems as they previously had.
The club are thought to be in no doubt that the young Edwards will forge a career for himself at the top level of English football but with the North London outfit unwilling to give him a chance it looks like he’ll have to find a new club, likely one outside of the Premier League as he goes in search of first-team football to build his stock back up after apparent attitude issues have limited his Spurs development.
