Arsene Wenger has been a divisive figure in the Tavern for years, with the Arsenal fans in attendance either revelling in his success or clamouring for his departure.
No manager has done it so well, for so long in the modern era – and so when the day finally comes that sees Wenger leave the Premier League, it will be a terribly sad one for fans of the Premier League.
However – it does not look like that day will be coming soon.
According to the Times, huge talks are underway behind-the-scenes at the Emirates – with Arsene Wenger edging closer to agreeing a new deal with his beloved club.
They suggest that a two-year-deal appears likely, with majority owner Stan Kroenke keen to get the deal done.
It has been quite the magnificent turnaround for Le Prof, who just a year ago appeared to be closing in on the end of his tenure.
With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, the Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern were beginning to prepare for his exit – but that no longer appears to be the case; and he has the fantastic form of his players to thank for that.
