Our Sunderland fans here in the Transfer Tavern really don’t know if they want the season to start as things really have got difficult for their club.
Indeed, after another torrid Premier League campaign they were finally relegated and things have unravelled even more since then with David Moyes deciding to move on.
Then, to rub salt into the wounds Derek McInnes decided to snub them to stay at Aberdeen and so things really do look as though they’re in a pretty bad way ahead of the new campaign.
A new manager, then, has to be a must and one of the latest names to emerge is Alan Pardew’s:

Certainly, that was cause quite the stir if it was to happen thanks to his old Newcastle connections and, naturally, both Sunderland and Magpies fans have got something to say on Twitter.
