Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait to see how their side performs in the Premier League this season with them back in the big-time.
Indeed, they are the most-fancied side to stay up of the three clubs that arrived from the Championship and Rafa Benitez will certainly be looking to deliver that at the very least.
How he does, though, will depend to a fair extent on how his new signings bed in with the rest of the squad but it appears that he’ll have to bring in anyone else on a tight budget.
Indeed, that is according to Lee Ryder on Twitter:
Why Newcastle United’s budget means they will end the transfer window shopping for bargains https://t.co/n7BlRkO1p5 #NUFC

Bargains, then, are the order of the day for the Magpies for the rest of the window and that news has certainly got many Magpies talking on the social media site.
Here, then, is the best of the reaction:
If I remember correctly no one from #nufc said we had 70-100 million it was the Twitter managers and the press who did #StopMoaning

End? They’ve been bargain hunting since the start… #NUFC

The same rag who reported weeks ago #NUFC had around £70-80 Million to spend. #MakeItUpAsYousGoAlong

What about the Thauvin money, 13m?

End the window for bargains? That’s what they done for last 8 years under Ashley

I thought some of the Wijnaldum and Sissoko money was left?
— Minty (@minty_9) July 28, 2017
All they have spent is the £30m from the Sissoko sale last summer. So effectively they’ve spent nowt.
