The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to a Twitter post from their club’s official account. The Yorkshire club tweeted a picture of their on-loan striker, Pierre-Michel Lasogga in training with the caption: “All smiles in training today” leading a number of Leeds fans to question what’s to smile about given the club’s awful form as of late.

The Elland Road faithful can be forgiven for being pessimistic at the moment. The club has gone almost four months into the new year with only one win under their belt. The Whites came into the season full of positivity as the fans expected a strong season where the club would make a push for promotion to the Premier League. Whilst things started sweet for the club and they found themselves sitting in 1st for two weeks in September, a sour twist was just around the corner.
The club soon dismissed manager Thomas Christiansen in early February after results failed to impress with the club in 10th. Since then, Paul Heckingbottom has taken over the reigns at the club with no change in fortunes and the Leeds fans are now looking on as the club sit 14th in England’s second tier. Those associated with the club look destined to suffer their ninth straight season in the Championship, with a Premier League return now looking a long way off.
With that in mind, here’s our local Leeds fans’ verdict on their club’s post:
