A number of big names have moved to Old Trafford, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic the latest player to be confirmed.
Ibrahimovic, of course, played for the Red Devils last season, but he has now extended his contract through to this season, leaving the fans in the pub feeling very excited indeed.
However, the Swede himself appears to be more excited about another of Man Utd’s signings, who he describes as bringing the ‘stability’ that the team desperately needed this season.
Speaking to ESPN, Ibra said: “He [Matic] brings a stability to the team that it didn’t have last year”.
Elaborating, he continued: “He brings stability to the whole team and that is what the team needs, and to have a player who is consistent at the top level”.
Matic has enjoyed a fantastic start to the season for Man Utd, which makes Chelsea’s decision to sell him even more baffling. The Blues have somewhat struggled, and they have been desperately lacking a player just like Matic to see them through.
What is Chelsea’s loss, though, is Man Utd’s gain – and the possibilities this season are endless as a result.
Landlord’s Verdict
Ibrahimovic is right: Matic is exactly the sort of player that Man Utd needed.
He’ll allow the likes of Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera the ability to roam forward without needing to worry too much about the defence, with the Serbian undoubtedly one of Europe’s best defensive midfielders.
He demanded a huge fee, but he’ll be worth every penny if he helps Man Utd to a Premier League title.
