If Chelsea sign these 2 players, they could both have a bigger impact than Rudiger next season

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are feeling rather negative about the rest of the season. It hasn’t been a very good few weeks for the Blues.

Antonio Conte’s men have seen their Champions League ambitions come to a grinding halt, with a defeat to Barcelona, and not even a top-four finish in the Premier League is looking particularly likely. They’re now relying on the teams above them, notably Tottenham or Liverpool, dropping points over the coming weeks.

Clearly, then, if Chelsea are to reign supreme again next season, Antonio Conte – or whoever is in charge – has a lot of work to do in the transfer market.

The Blues haven’t done too well in that regard as of late, with many of the summer signings that came to the club during the close-season not impressing.

One player that has looked good, though, is Antonio Rudiger. The German has forced his way into Chelsea’s first team plans, and he’s made quite the impact.

If Chelsea can sign 1 or 2 players that can make a similarly great start to life in blue, Antonio Conte’s men will have a much better chance of achieving success next season.

Fortunately, there is a lot of talent in and around Europe that is capable of doing just that, and so Chelsea should be on the look-out.

With that said, if Chelsea sign these 2 players, they could both have a bigger impact than Rudiger next season…

Florian Thauvin

Chelsea have been very reliant on their attacking talent this term, with both Eden Hazard and Willian impressing.

A player like Florian Thauvin could help to take the load off their over-performing forwards.

He’s been one of Europe’s most in-form players as of late, and he looks some way off the player that previously turned out for Newcastle.

With 16 goals and 10 assists already this season, he’s a great candidate for a player deserving of another chance in the English top flight.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

Likewise, Chelsea have also been very reliant on N’Golo Kante in the midfield. Naturally, then, a move for a hugely talented midfielder like Sergej Milinkovic-Savic makes perfect sense.

He’s been in very good form this season for current team Lazio, providing fantastic passing, dribbling and moving with the ball.

The Serbian is more creative than anyone in the Chelsea team, and would be a great successor for someone like Cesc Fabregas. He’s already bagged 9 goals and 2 assists this term.
