Image: Have Liverpool made a bigger transfer blunder than Man United?

No matter what team the punters in the Transfer Tavern swear allegiance to, there’s little doubt that Joe Allen is a hero.

So infamously called the ‘Welsh Xavi’ by a certain Brendan Rodgers back in 2012, the midfielder had struggled for game time at Anfield until late on last season.

Well, since, the 26-year-old has emerged as one of the most dependable players in the Premier League and his stock only continued to rise at Euro 2016 amid Wales’ stunning run.

Now with Stoke City, the former Swansea City man has continued his good run of form, managing to bag four goals for the Potters thus far.

In fact, a damning statistic has emerged that suggests the Welshman is one of the signings of the summer.

As tweeted by Squawka, Allen has now been involved in more Premier League goals than Manchester United pair Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba COMBINED.

The Red Devils duo have mustered involvement in just five goals between them, while Allen has been directly involved in six himself.

And it’s a wonder just why Jurgen Klopp was in such a rush to sell him…

Should Allen have been kept on at Liverpool? Let us know below…
