Such was the pulsating nature of Manchester City’s Champions League clash with Monaco last night, it seems the punters propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern weren’t the only ones glued to the TV screen.
One of the most exciting Champions League ties in recent memory, City fell apart at the Stade Louis II as the men from the Principality ran riot against their leaky defence, much to the delight of all the footballing hipsters out there. Well, them and Manchester United forward, Anthony Martial.
The Frenchman used to play for the club obviously and surely would have been delighted to watch his new team’s rivals crash out of the Europe elite, tweeting his happiness for former teammate Tiemoué Bakayoko, who scored a crucial goal to send Les Rogue et Blancs through on away goals.

Interestingly enough, the marauding midfielder has been linked with a move to Old Trafford of late. Very interesting indeed.
