Fans from both sides of the Manchester divide in the Transfer Tavern can’t quite believe what they’re hearing this morning, as reports indicate a sensational transfer between the two sides could go ahead this summer.
Manchester United’s pursuit of a new goalkeeper to replace David De Gea, who seems likely to finally earn a move to Real Madrid this summer, has reportedly seen the Red Devils target Manchester City’s England number one Joe Hart.
Hart has spent a successful season on-loan with Torino after being ousted by Pep Guardiola last summer and is set to leave the Etihad Stadium on a permanent deal during the upcoming transfer window.
Sensationally, a City source told The Mirror Hart would be allowed to move to Manchester United- but only if the Red Devils matched an extremely-high asking price of around £30m.
“Nothing will be ruled out with regard to Joe. But we know there will be lots of interest from both home and abroad and we won’t accept anything less than the true market value.”
The last player to move across Manchester was goalkeeper Tony Cotten two-decades ago and our landlord is still struggling to get his head around these rumours, as he feels City would certainly come to regret this decision.
