Is This The Most Bitter And Deluded Fan You’ve Ever Listened To?

I don’t know about football being the beautiful game, but it certainly is simple. Simple is good.

So a massive alarm bell tolls for me when people feel the need to explain, enlighten and generally demystify the game of football for me.

It’s like those car ads where the bloke says,’ It sounds, just like a Volkswagon’. Of course the salesman in the VW garage up the road has never uttered that line. Because he has never needed to pass off a Golf or whatever as another car.

And that’s the nub of it. The moment someone begins explaining to me what I can quite clearly see before my eyes, they are trying to con me.
