Everton: Toffees eyeing Isco alongside Andre Ayew

The Times journalist Paul Joyce says that Everton are eyeing a potential move for free agent Isco.

The Lowdown: Turned to free agents

Everton have turned to the free agent market to try and strengthen their squad, after not being able to sign a single player in the January transfer window.

There are reports that they are still trying to sign Andre Ayew, after he arrived in London following talks with the Goodson Park outfit.

However, they face competition from fellow Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest for his signature, so would have to wrap a deal up fast.

The Latest: Isco interest

Writing in his latest article for The Times, Joyce says that the Merseyside club are also considering a move for Isco, who is a free agent as well.

The attacking midfielder saw a move to Bundesliga side Union Berlin collapse on Transfer Deadline Day, and so is free to move to another club.

The Verdict: Get both in

After not strengthening in January, and letting Anthony Gordon go to Newcastle United, it is imperative that Sean Dyche it’s given the tools that team needs to help the club stay up, and signing both Ayew and Isco does bolster his squad.

Hailed as a ‘talented‘ player by football commentator Kevin Hatchard, Isco is a five-times UEFA Champions League winner with Real Madrid, and won many other major trophies during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu.

He has played over 450 games in Spain, scoring 73 goals and making a further 70 assists, while he has also been capped 38 times by their national team (Transfermarkt).

Isco is very experienced at the highest level, and would add some extra guile in the middle of the park for the Toffees, should they be able to persuade him to join.
