Everton are keen on signing Manchester City midfielder Jack Grealish on loan this summer. Grealish has been informed by the City hierarchy that he is surplus to requirements at the club, and was left of out this summer’s Club World Cup Squad.
Manager Pep Guardiola admitted earlier that Grealish needs to find a club where he will play a lot of minutes and rediscover his love for the game, casting further doubt on the player’s future at the club. Many clubs in the Premier League and across Europe have enquired about Grealish’s availability, but so far no concrete offers have arrived.
TalkSport has reported that Everton have already held talks with City over a loan for the player, and are set for further talks. Everton are seeking an option to buy as part of the loan agreement as they prepare for a move to their new Hill Dickinson Stadium.
West Ham have also registered an interest in the player. Grealish would likely have to take a pay cut to facilitate either of these moves, as he is currently on a massive £300,000-a-week deal at City.
Premier League clubs vying for Grealish

Once the most expensive player ever following his £100m move from Villa to City in 2021, Grealish has won three Premier League titles, an FA Cup and a Champions League title. In his second season with the club, he registered 16 goal contributions in all competitions, helping the club with a treble.
He has however struggled for minutes since then, and last season saw him effectively frozen out by Guardiola. He made just 32 appearances across all competitions for the club last term, with only 16 of those being starts.
Only seven of those starts came via the Premier League, and in fact only one came in the entire 2025 so far. He remains a talented footballer though and would represent a major coup for either Everton of West Ham.
West Ham are reeling from the loss of Mohammed Kudus to Tottenham and are in the market for attacking reinforcements. Everton are looking to rebuild after several first team players left the club following the expiry of their contracts.
